Sharon – Board Member, CHAT Society
My interest in being on the CHAT Society board is rooted in my experience as an advocate for someone living with aphasia.
I am keen to put my energy into creating a place for people with communications disorders because it is needed in the community.
I want to be a part of getting a safe space off the ground and watching it take hold at the community level and beyond.
Whether a centre provides resources or a safe space for people with communications disorders to meet, or whether it provides programming that attracts people from beyond the immediate community, or whether such a place contributes to research to better the lives of people affected by communications disorders, I consider myself fortunate to be a part of building such a vital thing.
